It’s always one of our most popular concerts – George F. Handel’s MESSIAH performed by our Bravo! Chorale, Northwest Chamber Orchestra, and soloists. Handel composed MESSIAH in 1741 in just 24 days – an astonishing artistic feat. It remains the most performed choral music in the world and is considered one of the great artistic icons of Western culture. And why not? MESSIAH tells a dramatic story with songs that are memorable for their melodies, power, and emotion, like the instantly recognizable Hallelujah Chorus. Nearly 300 years after its premiere, MESSIAH continues to inspire and entertain. Maria Manzo, Conductor, Bravo! Northwest Choir, Northwest Chamber Orchestra, and soloists
Concert 2
Johannes Brahms – A German Requiem (in English)
Sunday, February 21, 2027 at 3:30 PM
Venue: The Historic Old Madeleine Church
Johannes Brahms' (1833-1897) Ein deutsches Requiem (A German Requiem) is the crowning jewel of 19th European choral music. Composed between 1865 and 1868, Brahms took a radical approach with his requiem, and redefined the genre. Instead of a traditional Latin Mass as a remembrance for the dead, Brahms composed his music as comfort and solace for the living. And Brahms used his native German – NOT Latin – basing his lyrics on scripture that focus on universal themes of consolation, grief, and eternal peace. OUR performance uses an English translation and a new arrangement by British composer Iain Farrington for a 20-voice choir and chamber orchestra. Hear this radical 19th century masterpiece with our 21st century approach, led by conductor Maria Manzo.
Concert 3

Join us for a 300-year musical journey from 1727 Baroque Europe to 2027 American Jazz. ALL composers are influenced by music that came before them.
Beethoven wrote his popular Triple Concerto in the style of a Bach era “Concerto Grosso.” Composed for piano, cello, violin and orchestra – the Triple Concerto is a rare gem that balances solo virtuosity with a harmonious blend. In our NEW arrangement, the three soloists also perform the orchestra parts! Chris Brubeck’s fiery Danza del Soul for Clarinet, Violin, Piano, Bass, Drums & Guitar is crossover music – blending Classical era form with American jazz. It’s a FUN piece of music to hear and perform!
PLUS music by J. S. Bach, Jazz, and Blues, featuring the Elysium Quartet, jazz pianist Jasnam Daya Singh, and the Michael Kissinger Quartet.
